Christopher
Charboneau -This will be Chris’s 20th
summer at Wolverine. He is currently the Band Director at
Oak
Park
High School
and Middle School. During his fifteen year teaching career, Chris’s high school and middle school bands have consistently earned first division ratings at District and State band festivals..
Camp Staff
John Kumjian - This will be John’s 6th summer at Wolverine as our percussion instructor. He is currently in his 22nd year of teaching, and 9th year as the band director at Glen Lake Community Schools in
Maple
City
.
Carol Begian-McGuire - Carol with assist with the saxophones for the 11th year at Wolverine. She is in her 13th year of teaching at
Alcona
High School
in Lincoln, Mi.
Melissa Wakeley-Sapienza - This will be Melissa’s 8th summer as the trumpet instructor. Melissa is the Director of Bands in the
Clare
Public Schools
.
Mary Ann Hubbard - This will be MaryAnn’s 4th summer as our flute instructor. She is recently retired from the Alpena Public Schools and is Chamber Music Director and Flute Instructor at
Alpena
Community College
. She plays with the Gaylord Chamber Orchestra, Quintetto Sonare, Wind Song Flute Quartet and Arioso Trio.
Darryl Yokley - This will be Darryl’s 4th year as our saxophone instructor. He recently completed his Masters Degree in music performance at
Michigan
State
University
and is performing and teaching in
North Carolina
.
Shana Hiser- Shana is in her senior year at
Saginaw
Valley
State
University
as a music education major. This will be her 4th summer at camp as the French horn instructor and counselor.
Tom Golden - Tom is the Assistant Director of Bands in Cheboygan, and will join us for the 4th year as the Camp Jazz Band director.
Remus C. Webb- This will be his 2nd summer at camp for Remus, who is our trombone and baritone instructor. He is currently a graduate student at the University of Louisville in euphonium performance.
Phil Popham - Phil is a Doctoral oboe student at Michigan State University, and a graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music. He is a member of the West Shore, Traverse and Midland Symphonies. This will be his 4th year as our double reed instructor.
Stephanie Campeau - this will be her 2nd summer as a saxophone asistant and coounselor. She is a senior music education major at Grand Vally State University.
Katie Hildebrand - Katie is a senior music education major at Grand Vally State University, and will be our new clarinet instuctor.
