  For 40 years, we have consistently offered the best in Vocal Music Instruction for Choir Students  in an ideal geographical setting in Northern Michigan. Wolverine Camps has further developed its program to include theater and stage presence, movement and choreography along with our traditional emphasis on improving the student's vocal and personal growth.

Camp Director

Ronald R. Rudland - In his 26th year as director of Wolverine Vocal Music Camp, Ron teaches leadership and motivational skills, as well as theater and also directs the Mass Choir. He is in his 30th year of teaching. He teaches High School and Middle School Vocal Music and Middle School Music Theater at Jackson Country Western. Ron has taught grades 4th - 12th in both Vocal and Instrumental music. He also coaches Varsity Soccer. 

Camp Staff

Keith Cahoon - In his 24th year at Wolverine, Keith will direct the SATB Choir. He is from Plainwell, Michigan where he has taught Middle School and High School Vocal Music for 25 years. He has been a teacher for 28 years. Keith has been the accompanist for both the Middle School and High School State Honors Choirs, and is currently the State Jr. High Honors Choir Co-ordinator. 

Sharon Green - In her 26th year at Wolverine, Sharon will direct the Middle School SSA Choir. Sharon has taught at Wolverine , Blue Lake, and Northern Michigan Music Camps. She taught 31 years at Garveraet Middle School in Marquette and is now retired. She was a past director of the MSVA/SSA Jr. High State Honors Choir and SA Jr. High State Honors Choir. Sharon was honored as Michigan "Teacher of the Year" in 1994. She is currently teaching music education at Northern Michigan University. 

Tony Beacco - This is Tony's 16th year at Wolverine Camps as choreographer director, accompanist and vocal teacher. He is the Vocal Music Director at Westwood High School in Ishpeming. 

Ann Giuliani-Curry - Ann has been Choir Assistant and Counselor at Vocal Camp for 14 years. She is currently teaching middle school choir, show choir, and musical theater in Port Washington, Wisconsin. She has also taught private vocal instruction and children's theater, as well as elementary music. 

Susanne Gibbs - Western Public Schools, this is her 7th year at Wolverine as accompanist.

Bethany Clark - In her 3rd year of teaching chior at Western Middle School. 3rd year at Wolverine Camps.

Paula Herber - In her 11th year at Wolverine Camps. Vocal music teacher at Sanford/Meridian Public School.
Sunday Session
1:00-3:00 Registration
3:00-5:00 Orientation, supper, class placement for theory, voice class and choir.
5:00-10:30 Supper,swim test, mixer, snack time, bed

8:30 Theater / Stage / Choreography
9:30 SATB/SSA rehearsal
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Rest Period - Practice for Talent Show, etc.
12:45 Mass choir rehearsal
1:45 Theory and Voice
3:00 Recreation - swimming, tubing, practice for talent show, high ropes, climbing tower
5:30 Dinner
6:30 SATB/SSA choir rehearsal
7:30 Evening enteraiment, games, dance, *talent show, etc.
9:00 Snack Time
10:00 Bed
10:30 Lights Out!!
Saturday
11:00 Concert for Parents (parents please bring  folding chair if possible.)
12:00 Check Out

2008 Session dates

Session: July 6th - 12th, 2008
7 days / 6 nights
$ 375 per Student

 


A registration fee of $125 is required; non-refundable after June 1st. Registration fee is applied towards the tuition.

* Students who wish to participates in the talent show need to bring their own music / materials.
